Connect & Record

FOLLOW THE SIGNAL

Start with what you want to capture.

A recording setup begins with a clear task, your exact piano model and the device that will receive the signal. Keep those three details together when reading manuals or comparing accessories.

Audio or MIDI?

Ask whether you want to capture the piano’s sound or work with performance information in an app. These are different tasks. Check the exact model’s documentation for what each port carries; the words USB or Bluetooth alone do not answer the question.

Define the result first.

“Record the sound I hear from my piano” is a more useful starting point than “buy a USB cable.”

Your connection checklist

  1. Write down the complete piano model, including suffixes.
  2. Name the destination: computer, phone, tablet, recorder or another device.
  3. Record the operating system and app where relevant.
  4. Check the documented capability at both ends.
  5. List the required cables or adapters only after the path is confirmed.

Questions to keep separate

Three different setup questions
GoalQuestion to resolve
RecordWhat signal can this exact piano send to my destination?
ListenWhere will I hear the piano, app or recorded playback?
Connect an appWhich models and connection methods does the app support?

Do not buy an interface or adapter just because it appears in another model’s setup. Start with the model identification checklist, then use the exact manufacturer documentation.
